How to create your own luck, at scale

Almost exactly 3 years ago I sat together with my friend Julius Parrisius for some pair blogging and was confronted with the term "serendipity" for the first time. He wrote a post about how to create your own luck, which was the topic of a panel at 2013's SXSW in Austin.

It's an interesting concept that says if you're just out there, staying positive, creating things, and being helpful to people, great stuff (masked as coincidences) will happen to you.

"The day has only 24 hours, I can't be everywhere. I got work to do," you might say. That's right. You can't go to any event, talk to anyone. Fortunately, there's a way to leave a footprint, to produce something that travels for you, going to all the places where you can't show up physically: your content. I believe, by creating high quality content you can create serendipity at scale, doing a great job creating luck for you even years after you hit the publish button.

(One example: I noticed that more people than usual followed me on Slideshare during the last few days and I found out that HubSpot featured on their blog a presentation I created more than 1.5 years ago. And some even signed up for this newsletter – hey there! Glad you're here 👋 )

Enjoy your weekends! I have to study for an exam on Wednesday, bummer.
