Hi, I'm Jan König 👋. I'm one of the founders of Jovo, 28 years old, and live in Berlin. < Go back to learn more.

Why we're building a product culture

I believe at some point in time founders have to find out which type of startup identity they want to create: are you seeing yourselves mainly as a business (best processes, execution), as problem solvers (customer driven, visionary), or as product people? Of course there's no clear distinction, and it depends on the market you're in. It's still worth a thought, though.

We know we're running a business, but see ourselves as very product centric. And this is also what someone told me last week: with your type of product, you should not hire anyone who can't bring any product skills to the table. And this is what we want to focus on in the next months: build a product people love, and hire people who share our product vision.
